Mizzou has a new combo guard for the 2026-27 season.
Dennis Gates and his staff earned a commitment from BYU transfer Kennard Davis Jr., according to On3’s Joe Tipton. Listed at 6-foot-6, Davis was a solid contributor for a BYU team that reached the NCAA Tournament this past March.

Prior to arriving at BYU, Davis spent 2 seasons at Southern Illinois. He had a breakout season there in 2024-15 where he averaged over 16 points per game and shot 37% from 3-point range.
Davis is the 4th transfer to commit to Mizzou so far this offseason. Dennis Gates and his staff also signed a highly-touted high school class this cycle, led by 5-star guard Jason Crowe Jr.
Gates is set to enter a pivotal 5th season with the Tigers. He’s made the NCAA Tournament in 3 of his previous 4 campaigns, but has yet to advance to the Sweet 16 since taking over in Columbia.
