Minnesota quarterback Drake Lindsey has been arrested for underage possession of alcohol and possession of fake identification, according to a report.
ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg broke the news on Friday afternoon, adding that Lindsey’s arrest came early Friday morning in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Lindsey is from that area as he starred at Fayetteville High School before enrolling at Minnesota.
“We are aware of the situation and will address it internally,” a Minnesota spokesperson said in a statement to ESPN.
Per the report, Lindsey admitted to authorities that he drank alcohol before arriving at YeeHawg bar with a fake ID “shortly after midnight” on Friday morning. The report also says that Fayetteville Police later found a copy of Lindsey’s fake ID in his wallet.

Lindsey, 20, had a breakout season for the Golden Gophers in 2025 and is expected to start for PJ Fleck’s team again this fall. Last season, he completed over 63% of his pass attempts for 2,382 yards, 18 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.
Lindsey has hearings scheduled in Fayetteville District Court on June 1 and June 29, per ESPN.
Minnesota will open the 2026 season against Eastern Illinois on Thursday, Sept. 3.
