BRIGHTON, N.Y. — A long-time tradition at Allendale Columbia School in Brighton is teaching students about science through play.
Dozens of kindergarten through fifth grade students spread out across the school’s campus for the annual Kite Day celebration Friday. The event is designed to let students learn by experimenting and discovering through play.
“Share the opportunity to experiment with what works, what doesn’t work, getting things aflight, getting excited, can’t miss it for the world because it’s unique. How many times do we take off to play?” Stephanie DePaul-Pragel said.
The Kite Day tradition has been a part of the school for more than 45 years, continuing to inspire students to learn in new ways.
