Victory over Fulham at Emirates Stadium would put Arsenal six points clear at the Premier League summit and increase the pressure on title rivals Manchester City. We look ahead to the match with our Arsenal vs Fulham preview and prediction.
Arsenal vs Fulham: The Key Stats
Arsenal are overwhelming favourites to take all three points, winning against Fulham in 72.1% of the Opta supercomputer’s pre-match simulations. Arsenal have scored 17 goals from corners in the Premier League this season, including their winner against Newcastle United last time out – the most any side has netted in a single campaign in the competition. Fulham are one of only two teams to have avoided conceding in the opening quarter of an hour of Premier League matches this season, alongside Man City.Arsenal have a chance to open up a six-point lead at the top of the Premier League when they take on Fulham at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
It was only last week that Manchester City displaced the Gunners at the summit by following up a 2-1 win over Mikel Arteta’s side with a 1-0 victory at Burnley.
However, Arsenal defeated Newcastle United 1-0 while City took part in the FA Cup last weekend, and Pep Guardiola’s side are not back in Premier League action until a trip to Everton on Monday.
The Gunners consequently have a chance to add some pressure on City, who will have two games in hand, by overcoming Fulham.
It will not be straightforward by any means, though, as Arsenal have a quick turnaround from their Champions League semi-final first leg – a 1-1 draw away to Atlético Madrid on Wednesday; they will need to avoid the distraction of having a chance to reach the final for the first time since the 2005-06 season in the return leg on Tuesday.
That is an essential part of competing for multiple honours, and Arteta’s side have proven themselves to be a force to be reckoned with on their own patch.
Arsenal have conceded just 11 goals in their 17 Premier League home games this season, only failing to find the net themselves once. The two home games in which they conceded more than once this term were their only defeats (3-2 against Manchester United, 2-1 against Bournemouth).
Eberechi Eze has also performed impressively in London, where he has scored all seven of his top-flight goals for Arsenal. Only Olivier Giroud (14) and Tony Adams (12) have had more consecutive goals in the capital from the start of their Premier League career for the Gunners.
Fulham, meanwhile, have failed to score in four of their last six league games, denting their hopes of qualifying for European competition.
However, with sixth-placed Brighton & Hove Albion just two points ahead of them, they will be keen to quickly turn their form around as the campaign reaches its climax.
Harry Wilson will undoubtedly play an integral role if they are to spring an upset, having provided more goals (10) and assists (6) in the Premier League this season than any of his teammates. He is also one of just 13 players across the whole division to have played both 100+ passes into the opposition box (137) and had 100+ touches in the opponent’s area (100).
Fulham will hope to have Alex Iwobi back from a thigh injury to face his former club, while doubts remain around the fitness of Kevin and Kenny Tete.
Arsenal may be able to call upon Kai Havertz and Jurriën Timber, both of whom missed the semi-final first leg against Atléti, but Mikel Merino is still out with a foot issue.
Arsenal vs Fulham Head-to-Head
History is well and truly on Arsenal’s side in this fixture; the Gunners have not lost in 32 home league games against Fulham (W25 D7), which is the most any side has faced another without defeat in English Football League history.
Furthermore, Fulham have never won a Premier League away game against the leaders in 13 attempts, drawing three and losing 10. This is their first trip to the team that is top since drawing 2-2 at Liverpool in December 2024.
The Cottagers have won just one of their last 15 top-flight games against Arsenal (D4 L10) – a 2-1 home victory in December 2023 denied Arteta’s side the chance to finish the year on top of the table.
Arsenal vs Fulham Prediction
It’s hard to look past Arsenal, who came out on top in 72.1% of the Opta supercomputer’s 10,000 pre-match simulations.
Fulham are well and truly up against it with a win probability of just 11.9% – lower than the 16% likelihood of the spoils being shared.
