ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A Monroe County jury has convicted a 43-year-old woman after a shooting in the Edgerton neighborhood in September.
A jury found Soraya Rodriguez guilty of attempted murder, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon. On Sept. 18, 2025, prosecutors say Rodriguez climbed through the victim’s window at her house on Finch Street, and shot her while she was lying in bed.
The victim, a 25-year-old woman, was brought to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious gunshot wounds. Prosecutors say medical staff were able to save the victim’s life.
Rodriguez is set to be sentenced on May 28.
