First Alert Weather: Another day with a soaking rain

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A widespread soaking rain has once again rolled into Western New York.  This is due to a front that has become mainly stationary with several areas of low pressure moving up along the front.  These low pressures systems are enhancing the rainfall, and the steady rain is not likely to taper until later this evening. The current estimate is close to an inch of rain before the steady rain ends, and the scattered showers then completely come to an end after midnight.  Although there is no significant flooding expected, flooded fields and ponding the roadways will be likely for the evening.  It is also likely that creeks and streams will rise overnight.

Tonight, look for the steady rain to taper to scattered showers.  The low temperature will fall to near 40 degrees.  Thursday skies may brighten from time to time, but anther spotty shower is possible.  It will be unseasonably cool with the temperature remaining in the lower 50s.

Friday, the first day of May, promises to be a changeable day.  Expect a mix of clouds, sun, and a shower.  Again, the high temperature will only be within a few degrees of 50.  However, it does appear to dry-out for most of the weekend.
