CAIRO, April 25 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and Foreign Minister of the sisterly Sultanate of Oman Badr Albusaidi stressed the need to intensify efforts to prevent the recurrence of military confrontations in the region and to safeguard the freedom of international navigation.
They affirmed that dialogue is the only way to spare the region further instability.
This came during a phone call between the two ministers, during which they discussed the rapidly evolving developments in the region and coordinated joint efforts to de-escalate tensions and resume negotiations between the United States and Iran.
The two ministers exchanged views on the latest developments in the diplomatic track and the negotiations between the United States and Iran, emphasizing the importance of supporting this path to reach understandings that would help consolidate a ceasefire, end the war, establish stability in the region, and promote political solutions away from military escalation.
Abdelatty reiterated during the call Egypt’s full solidarity with and support for the sisterly Sultanate of Oman and all Gulf Arab states, stressing Egypt’s standing with its Arab brothers in facing any challenges targeting their security and stability, and the need to take into account the security concerns of regional countries, foremost among them the Gulf Arab states.
He affirmed that the security of the Gulf is an integral part of Egypt’s national security.
The two ministers agreed to continue consultation and coordination regarding various developments in the region, in a manner that serves efforts to maintain regional security and stability. (MENA)
