The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) issued a report on Saturday outlining internet usage indicators over a 24-hour period in 2026.
The report showed a significant increase in the use of entertainment applications at 60 percent, compared to the same day in 2025.
It also indicated a 12 percent increase in mobile internet usage, with the number of mobile internet users rising by 7.9 million.
Furthermore, the report revealed a 36 percent increase in fixed internet usage, with the number of fixed internet users increasing by one million.
Technology expert Adel Saeed said that the increase in fixed internet usage reflects the positive impact of public spending on digital infrastructure, which has contributed to increased reliance on fixed internet and its emergence as a primary hub for electronic transactions.
