ROCHESTER, N.Y. — World of Inquiry School No. 58 in Rochester hosted a “Bald for Bucks” fundraiser on Friday morning, where participants had their heads shaved to show that no one battling cancer does it alone.
Organizers say it’s a great way to show support and teaches students an important lesson.
“There’s something bigger than you. Really understanding that there are people going through different things that are really hard. There’s not a lot that you can do, but something small like this – it goes a long way,” said Andrew Fox, math teacher at World of Inquiry School No. 58.
The fundraiser raised $1,300. That money will benefit 13-30 Cancer Connect and the Roswell Cancer Center in Buffalo.
