Philadelphia traded with arch-rival Dallas to move up from No. 23 to No. 20 — one spot ahead of the Steelers — to take Lemon.
The move was so swift that Lemon found out about it in real time while still on the phone with Pittsburgh. NFL Network’s Good Morning Football shared the scene.

Philadelphia general manager Howie Roseman intimated after the selection that they had Lemon as a top-15 player. When he was still on the board after 15 picks, the Eagles started working the phones to find a partner to trade up and get him.
“First I answered the phone and it was the Steelers and then my phone kept ringing,” Lemon said shortly after being picked. “I look and it’s the Eagles. … I feel like everything happens for a reason. They traded up, so it means a lot. They really want me. I’m all in and they gonna get everything that I got.”
The second round of the NFL Draft begins Friday night. Pittsburgh has the No. 53 pick. We’ll see if they try to land a receiver.
