After the first period, the Bruins, for a third-straight game, found the net first as Tanner Jeannot broke the scoreless tie. Buffalo responded with their first non-third-period goal of the series as Bowen Byram tied the game up with assists from Noah Ostlund and Owen Power.
Then four minutes into the third, Alex Tuch gave the Sabres their first lead of the game before an empty netter from Ostlund sealed the game with less 90 seconds left.
Alex Lyon got his first start in net these playoffs, saving 24 shots on 25 attempts.
Game four is set for Sunday in Boston, puck drop is scheduled for 2 pm. Buffalo will return home for game five on Tuesday.
