Former Saint Mary’s guard Mikey Lewis has committed to transfer to Texas, according to multiple reports.
247Sports’ Dushawn London first reported the news on Thursday. Lewis spent 2 seasons with the Gaels, where he appeared in 68 games. He was an All-WCC First Team selection in 2025-26.
He’ll have 2 seasons of eligibility with the Longhorns.
Lewis was a dynamo sixth man for Saint Mary’s as a true freshman during the 2024-25 campaign. He played in all 35 games and averaged 8.2 points. He also led the team in 3-pointers made (58), 3-pointers attempted (155), and 3-point percentage (37.4%).
As a sophomore this past season, Lewis started all 33 games for the Gaels while averaging 13.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 26.8 minutes a contest. He shot 36.8% from 3 and led the team in made triples for a second consecutive season.
Lewis is the latest addition for coach Sean Miller this offseason. The Longhorns are working on one of the nation’s best transfer classes; Lewis joins guard Isaiah Johnson (Colorado), guard Amari Evans (Tennessee), forward David Punch (TCU), and forward Elyjah Freeman (Auburn).
Given the spending in Austin this offseason, Texas is likely to have major expectations next season. Miller turned in a 21-15 campaign in his debut, winning 3 NCAA Tournament games. A deeper run feels possible next season if the class hits.
