Georgia lost one of the best shot blockers in the nation to the transfer portal a few weeks ago, and it looks like Mike White has finally found a replacement. The Bulldogs added a commitment from former A-10 center Andrew Osasuyi Thursday afternoon.

Osasuyi hails from Italy and played his freshman season of college basketball with St. Bonaventure, where he averaged around 12 minutes per game. Despite this, Osasuy– who comes to Georgia with a 7-foot-4 wingspan — was one of the best shot blockers in the A-10, sitting at a 16% block rate on KenPom — which is absolutely ludicrous. He posted a few brilliant defensive outings last season, including an 8-block performance against St. Josephs across just 17 minutes of action.
While endurance wasn’t Osasuyi’s strong suit with the Bonnies, he definitely showed some promise outside of the shot blocking department. The 6-9 center hit 65% of his shots from the field and averaged just under 3 rebounds per game with an OREB% of 13.7%, which was second on the team and hypothetically first for the Bulldogs if he suited up in Athens last season.
Osasuyi is the 5th addition the Bulldogs have made this offseason, joining incoming freshman David Ugonna Ike, Brady Dunlap out of Saint Louis, Kemauri Millender (JUCO) and Penn State’s Freddie Dilione V.
