However, the world record holder was still able to compete in Bergen, where he threw down some notable times.
In the 200/400 Frees, Martens was 1:45.6 & 3:44.2, winning both handily and setting meet records in both. The Olympic champion also swam the 200 back, where he set a new meet record in 1:55.8, also breaking the German record in the event.
Martens will compete in the German Trials this coming weekend, where he will vie to qualify for the European Championships later this summer.
