ALBANY, N.Y. — New York lawmakers are pushing to make lawn equipment cleaner and quieter.
The state assembly has approved a bill to create a rebate program for electric landscaping tools, encouraging businesses to move away from gas-powered equipment.
Supporters say it would cut pollution and noise. According to EPA air monitoring data, Monroe County leads all of upstate New York when it comes to air pollution caused by gas-powered lawn equipment.
