Prime Video has landed the UK rights to Embassy, a new action thriller starring Sam Heughan, Anna Kendrick and JK Simmons.
The streamer has also snapped up rights to the six-part AGC Television series, which is set to launch next year, in five other territories: Ireland, Canada, France, Australia and New Zealand.
Embassy stars Kendrick (A Simple Favour) as Layla, a sharp and resourceful American diplomat, who faces an impossible choice: protect the US Ambassador (played by Whiplash star Simmons) or follow his orders to exfiltrate a high value asset being held at the embassy.
Faced with this huge dilemma, Layla is forced to rely on her instincts and the reluctant help of her ex-fiancé, a British SAS soldier (Outlander star Heughan).
Additional cast includes Aleksandar Jovanovic (The Gold), Lydia Leonard (Gentleman Jack), Mitya Savelau (3 Body Problem), Hasan Akil (Memory Box) and James Murray (Masters of the Air).
Luke Treadaway (Unbroken), Stephen Odubola (Boiling Point,), Katie McGrath (The Ex-Wife), Alexander Karim (Gladiator 2) and Natalie Mendoza (Jack Ryan) also star.
The series is coming to our screens courtesy of writer and creator Rom Lotan, while ACG, Ascendant Fox and Turbine Studios serve as producers.
Filming has begun in Cologne, Germany and London.
Heughan has won over the hearts and minds of countless fans with his role as Scottish Highlander and hero Jamie Fraser on the hit historical drama Outlander, which is currently airing its eighth and final season.
The actor is also known for various other roles including Sebastian in film action-comedy The Spy Who Dumped Me, in which he starred alongside Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon.
Other credits include The Wild West, River City, Island at War, Party Animals, Midsomer Murders, Rebus, and Any Human Heart.
Embassy is coming to Prime Video in the UK in 2027.
