Dylan Sprouse and his wife, Barbara Palvin, spoke out after reportedly fending off an intruder at their Los Angeles home.
“We’re dealing with the trauma with jokes and fun and all that,” Palvin, 32, told E! News at the red carpet premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2 on Monday, April 20.
On Friday, April 17, multiple sources confirmed that Sprouse, 33, confronted an intruder outside the couple’s Hollywood Hills home. Sprouse tackled the alleged trespasser on his front lawn after Palvin noticed the “creepy guy,” per the Los Angeles Times.
“I thought it was funny,” Sprouse admitted to E! News at Monday’s gala red carpet event. “This is really to my detriment but I’m really not a ‘too soon’ guy, in general.”

He went on, “We’re laughing about things the moment they happen. You’ve got to have levity in life. Thankfully, no one was hurt and there was no more violence.”
According to reports, Palvin called 911 at around 12:30 a.m. PT on Friday to report a possible home invasion. Sprouse reportedly had a gun and restrained the alleged intruder until police arrived moments later.
The suspect was taken into custody on an unrelated outstanding warrant. No injuries were reported and it is believed that the entire confrontation took place outside the residence.

“It’s all OK,” he insisted, with Palvin adding, “We’re just happy to be here to watch [The Devil Wears Prada 2].”
Sprouse initially met the Victoria’s Secret and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue model at a party in 2017 before reconnecting through social media a few months later. Palvin revealed in June 2023 that Sprouse had recently popped the question after five years together.
“With the power invested in V I am a Sprouse to be ??♀️,” she joked, referring the couple’s joint V Magazine photo shoot.
In the magazine’s engagement-themed profile, Sprouse clarified that he actually proposed in September 2022, but the couple chose to celebrate privately for nearly a year.
“We didn’t necessarily feel the need to be fully transparent with the public about that aspect of our engagement,” he explained. “What we wanted to do with Stephen and the V team is make something that was kind of tongue-in-cheek about the nature of private versus public. We’re playing with the idea of perception.”

Palvin agreed, saying. “I knew we were building this story up. So, I’m very happy that we ended up doing it our way.”
They tied the knot in Palvin’s native Hungary just one month after confirming their engagement. Palvin wore a couture Vivienne Westwood dress for a destination wedding that ended up being much more extravagant than the newlyweds originally planned.
“This past weekend was supposed to be an intimate event, but we ended up having 115 guests in the end because there are a lot of people we care about, and we wanted them all to be there,” Palvin explained.
