Coming out to chase, GT lost Sai Sudharsan in the first ball of the over, with Jasprit Bumrah picking up the wicket, and got back to his form and picked a wicket after 5 matches. Then it was Jos Buttler who was back with a low score in the very next over. Then Shubman Gill, who looked set, was dismissed by Ashwani Kumar.

The Titans were derailed in the run chase, losing three wickets inside the power play, and since then, they did not make a comeback in the match, losing wickets at regular intervals.
