It’s never too late to woo somebody. At least that’s the hope of New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen, who reportedly got dinner with NFL prospect and former Arizona State Sun Devil wide receiver Jordyn Tyson in Scottsdale on Thursday night.
The 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh gets underway next Thursday at 5 p.m. MST, and Tyson appears to be a surefire first-round selection.
The Giants, who finished 4-13 last season for last place in the NFC East, originally only owned the No. 5 overall pick.
However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Saturday night New York traded defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence to Cincinnati for the Bengals’ No. 10 overall pick, and now the Giants own two top 10 picks in the draft.
Schoen and the Giants may be more confident they can land Tyson with this extra draft capital, according to ESPN NFL analyst Peter Schrager, as fifth off the board “may have been a little rich.”

Schoen was even seen talking with the 6-foot-2 wideout and Skattebo.

Tyson then held his own private workout for 20 NFL teams on Friday, running a reported “20-25” routes and only dropping one ball. He did not show off any other skill ahead of the draft, as Tyson most importantly demonstrated his health after rehabbing from a hamstring injury.
For his low drop rate (two in the red zone across 21 games at ASU), ESPN’s Matt Bowen recently listed him as the 2026 prospect with the “best body control, ball tracking.”
The Sun Devils receiver has been mocked to numerous teams, including the Cleveland Browns (picks Nos. 6 and 24), New Orleans Saints (No. 8) and Kansas City Chiefs (Nos. 9 and 29), with aggregate site NFL Mock Draft Database having Tyson go off the board around No. 15 on average.
He totaled 136 receptions, 1,812 yards and 19 touchdowns (18 receiving, one rushing) in two seasons at ASU. Tyson earned All-Big 12 First Team honors in both 2024 and 2025.
