Less than a quarter of sessions for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics have tickets currently available as drop 1 comes to a close. 191 sessions have tickets available out of the 826 sessions total. Out of those 191 sessions, only 28 of them are sessions in which medals will be presented.
Tickets are currently available for the general public that earned a time slot in drop 1. Swimming tickets that were available during the local LA and OKC presale as well as the allotted amount for drop 1 sold out on Monday this week. Drop 1 ends on April 19th. Details have not been announced for drop 2. Anyone given a time slot can select up to 12 Olympic session tickets and up to 12 Football (Soccer) Tournament tickets.
For sessions that are currently unavailable, it is unknown if more tickets will become available during drop two later this year, but the LA28 Olympics have posted on social media, “Due to high demand during the LA & OKC Locals Presale, certain sports do not have any more inventory in Drop 1. If you search a sport and no sessions come up, it is no longer available in this drop. More inventory will be added in subsequent drops, the next of which will be later this year.”
Official ticket resales will open up in 2027, and any tickets available to purchase on the resale market before 2027 are not verified by LA 2028. Price controls have not been officially announced, so there is much uncertainty around affordability when the resale market officially begins.
LA 2028 has announced that more than 1 million tickets will be available for $28 while almost 50% of tickets will be under $200. Most of the tickets currently available at the end of drop 1 do not fall under $200.
