2025 NCAA qualifier Julia Strojnowska has announced she will transfer from Auburn to Michigan for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. Strojnowska just finished her sophomore season and has two years of eligibility remaining.
Strojnowska arrived at Auburn from Vancouver, Canada. At the 2025 SEC Championships, she was 17th in the 1650 free (16:19.43) and 19th in the 500 free (4:41.48). A week later she swam at the James E Martin Invite and swam lifetime bests in the 200 (1:44.62) and 500 (4:41.30) freestyles.
She earned an individual invite to the 2025 NCAA Championships and was 39th in the 1650 free, 47th in the 200 free, and 63rd in the 500 free. She also swam on Auburn’s 800 free relay that was 23rd.
This past season, she swam season bests at the 2026 SEC Championships with a 4:43.07 500 free for 17th and a 16:27.26 1650 free for 15th. It took a 1:44.00 in the 200 free, 4:41.28 in the 500 free and a 16:15.74 in the 1650 free to earn an individual invite to 2026 NCAAs.

200 free: 1:44.62 500 free: 4:41.30 1650 free: 16:19.43The Michigan women are coming off of a Big Ten team title as well as a 6th place finish at the 2026 NCAA Championships. Stephanie Balduccini led the team at NCAAs in the 200 free, finishing 9th in a 1:42.44. The team notably was 4th in the 800 free with a 6:48.04.
Hannah Bellard (7th, 4:35.80) and Marian Ploeger (35th, 4:43.52) represented the team in the 500 free while Rebecca Diaconescu (25th, 16:16.61) and Ploeger (36th, 16:17.66) swam the 1650 free. The 1650 free was one of only three events in which the team did not have any points at the 2026 NCAA Championships.
