Chili native and McQuaid graduate, Hunter Smith, has been selected 10th overall by the Boston Cannons in the Premier Lacrosse League draft.
Smith is currently in his senior year at Richmond, helping the Spiders, ranked fifth in the country, to a 10-1 start to the year.
In Smith’s junior year, he was an Inside Lacrosse Second-Team All-American and the Atlantic 10’s Co-Defensive Player of the year.
At McQuaid, Smith was a four-year starter and the team’s captain.
In the 2025 regular season, the Cannons went 4-6 and placed second-to-last in the league.
