Taylor Frankie Paul will not be charged after an alleged domestic violence dispute with her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen.
“After reviewing reports and evidence submitted to the Draper Police Department and West Jordan Police Department, the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office has declined to file charges against Taylor Frankie Paul,” district attorney Sim Gill’s office said in a statement to Deadline on Tuesday, Apr. 14.
In February, the Draperr and West Jordan police departments in Utah opened separate domestic violence investigations regarding alleged altercations between Paul and Mortensen.
In letters to both departments obtained by Deadline, the district attorney's office said, “The complainant in these cases reported several incidents—some of which occurred more than three years ago. Any incidents of misdemeanor offenses which are alleged to have occurred more than two years ago are barred by the statute of limitations. Incidents which are alleged to have occurred within the statute of limitations have also been reviewed.”
“Several incidents that were submitted do not rise to the level of criminal offenses," the DA's office added. "The remaining incidents lack sufficient evidence to support filing criminal charges where the State must be able to prove such allegations beyond a reasonable date. Such incidents lack specificity as to when and what actually occurred or corroboration.”
The district attorney's office also said that the investigations would not affect Paul's probation status.

In March, a spokesperson for the Draper City Police Department in Utah confirmed that there was an open “domestic assault investigation” regarding Paul and Mortensen related to incidents that allegedly occurred in February 2026.
The spokesperson confirmed “allegations have been made in both directions” and that “contact was made with involved parties on [Feb] 24th and 25th,” but declined to share any further details.
Hulu paused filming of season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives due to the investigations. Shortly, after, ABC pulled the plug on Paul’s season of The Bachelorette after TMZ released a never-before-seen video that appeared to show her assaulting Mortensen back in 2023.
Amidst all of this, Paul temporarily lost custody of her 2-year-old son with Mortensen. During a hearing on Apr. 7, a judge granted Mortensen custody of the child and gave Paul up to 8 hours per week of supervised visitation. The arrangement is in effect until the next hearing on Apr. 30.
