Wednesday Morning
Rain could persist into the early morning hours Wednesday, with scattered showers and embedded thunderstorms continuing until almost daybreak in some locations, according to forecast models.
Isolated storms may be severe, but another threat will emerge later in the day.
Wednesday Afternoon
Most of the Chicago area is at a “marginal” risk of severe weather Wednesday, with gusty winds and heavy rain again the biggest threats.
Those severe storms would be more isolated in nature, but any rain that falls could add to the risk of localized flooding, according to forecast models.
Thursday
More rain is possible on Thursday in the Chicago area, with scattered showers expected in the morning hours before things finally start to dry out later in the day.
High temperatures should be pleasant on Thursday, with readings in the 70s, according to forecast models
Friday
Friday could see yet another round of strong-to-severe thunderstorms late in the day, with highs in the 80s and humid conditions expected, according to forecast models.
Saturday
Storms that accompany an approaching cold front will continue to fire into the morning hours Saturday, with temperatures dropping throughout the day after the front passes through.
By Sunday, conditions will have calmed down, but temperatures will have dropped into the 50s for highs, according to the NBC 5 Storm Team.
