ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Threat Tracker has a Yellow Alert for Tuesday as a heads up to keep an eye to the sky for local downpours and thunderstorms. While much of the day will be dry, if you are out and about be prepared for possible downpours later this morning and then again mid to late afternoon as a few storms move through Western New York. Not anticipating widespread severe weather but some heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds are possible. Outside of the storm threat much of today will be kind of nice with warm readings into the low 70s but like yesterday, some strong wind gusts to 40mph are likely.
Looking ahead to Wednesday and Thursday we need to monitor conditions closely as additional storms will be possible. As the week goes on the threat of flooding will increase with any heavy rain we get and storms may bring lightning and gusty winds through the end of the week. Very warm weather last into the start of the weekend. Showers with a strong cold front will arrive late Saturday into Sunday with a sharp temperature drop into next week as cold air pours back into the region. Stay tuned to News10 for updates on Tuesday’s severe threat and timing for more rain this week.
