President Donald Trump raised more than a few eyebrows after getting DoorDash delivered to the White House mid-press conference.
“Dude I cant. Tell me this is AI. LMFAO,” one user wrote via Twitter after seeing a clip of a woman delivering McDonald’s to the Oval Office before Trump, 79, asked her if she wanted to “do a little new conference with me?”
The president then spoke about the United States and Israel’s ongoing war with Iran and other topics.
“She’s a paid prop? Omg. ??,” a second user replied to the viral social media video. A third person replied, “Yall are shameless.?.”
A separate user trolled the whole interaction, writing, “I wonder how many background checks, metal detectors, and Secret Service screenings this DoorDash Grandma had to go through just to hand-deliver McDonald’s to the Oval Office. ?.”

While many fans were confused why Trump had someone drop off food to the White House during such an important meeting, the president discussed the topic of his “No Tax on Tips” policy and the so-called “One Big, Beautiful Bill” passed into law in 2025.
“I heard you picked up an extra $11,000. Because the tax bill was so big, the refund was the biggest you’ve had,” Trump asked the woman, identified as Sharon Simmons, who has been vocal in the past about working at DoorDash to help pay for her husband’s cancer treatments.
“It definitely was,” she responded, after giving the president two bags of McDonald’s.

While the initial interaction between the delivery woman and the president caused a stir online, it was the fact that Trump kept her there by his side as he spoke to reporters about the war in Iran that had most people surprised.

Trump told reporters on Monday that Iran “called this morning” and expressed that they’d “like to work a deal” to end the war overseas as oil prices continue to soar in the U.S.
“[The sticking point] was over nuclear, yeah […] Iran will not have a nuclear weapon,” Trump explained while the delivery woman, wearing a red DoorDash polo, continued to stand next to him. “And we agreed to a lot of things but they didn’t agree to that. And I think they will agree to it, I’m almost sure of it. In fact I am sure of it, if they don’t agree there’s no deal, there will never be a deal. Iran will not have a nuclear weapon. And we’ll get the dust back. We’ll get it back either way; we’ll get it back from them, or we’ll take it.”

Trump also tried to get the woman’s opinion on the “men in women’s sports” issue, referring to the idea of transgender girls and women being able to compete in leagues based on their preferred gender as opposed to the one assigned at birth.
“I really don’t have an opinion on that. No, no, I’m here on no tax on tips,” she responded.
