ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A warm front will pass over Western New York this Sunday night. This will usher in warmer temperatures that will begin to arrive later tonight and continue for much of the upcoming week. So much so, that our weather will feel more like the month of May rather than the middle of April. The News10NBC First Alert meteorologists expect the temperature will begin to rise overnight. That will push the high temperatures into the upper 60s on Monday and likely in the low to middle 70s for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This means that the temperature will be some 10 to 20 degrees above normal for the next four days!
This front will also have a negative side to our weather this week. Located along the front, showers and thunderstorms will be developing with the threat of rain for each and every day. It should be noted that it will be difficult to be specific on the ultimate timing and intensity of any thundershowers. The latest computer model data suggests we will see just a spotty shower for the next 24 hours. However, there could be a greater opportunity for a stronger storm or two by Tuesday. At this time the forecast confidence is very low, so the News10NBC threat tracker will remain green, but as more data arrives in the coming hours and days it is recommended you check back for updates.
The first chance for cooler weather is probably not until later this next weekend, but once it arrives the chill will probably last into the first half of next week,
