Collin Chandler’s college basketball detour in the SEC at Kentucky is officially over.
The 6-5 sophomore guard told On3 on Saturday that he’s transferring to BYU, the program that he originally committed to coming out of high school. Chandler, a native of Farmington, Utah, is heading back to his home state after spending 2 seasons at Kentucky. He’ll finally get a chance to play for the Cougars after following Mark Pope to Kentucky after Pope left his head coaching post at BYU in 2024 to be the head coach at his alma mater in Lexington.
Chandler was a solid contributor at Kentucky this past season, averaging 9.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 41% from 3-point territory. He played in all 36 of Kentucky’s games in 2025-26, averaging 27.1 minutes per contest.

Chandler made his time in Lexington count, progressing from a role off the bench into a starter during his 2 seasons playing for Pope.
Chandler helped Kentucky win 22 games this past season, but the Wildcats flamed out in the second round of the NCAA Tournament and Chandler decided he wanted to head back toward home for the 2026-27 season.
Playing for his home-state Cougars had to wait a few years, but now Chandler has made the move to finally make that happen, starting this fall.
