A shooting late Friday night in Chicago’s West Englewood neighborhood left three people injured, including a 16-year-old boy, police said.
The incident was reported at around 10:38 p.m. in the 6600 block of South Wolcott Avenue near West 66th Street. According to Chicago police, an unknown suspect opened fire into a crowd, striking the three victims.
A 16-year-old boy was shot in the neck and on the side of his body. He was listed in critical condition at an area hospital, police said.
The second victim, a 28-year-old man, was shot in the left arm and right foot. He was said to be in good condition. A 40-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the hip, police stated, noting he was also hospitalized in good condition.
A gun was recovered at the scene, Chicago police said.
Area One detectives are investigating the shooting.
