Bills running back Ray Davis shares his story of homelessness and foster care at Villa of Hope fundraiser

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Buffalo Bills running back Ray Davis was in Rochester on Friday night as the keynote speaker at the Villa of Hope’s annual “Portraits of Hope” celebration.

Davis spoke at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center about his difficult road to success. As a child, Davis spent nearly eight years in foster care and didn’t have a home for a time.

He said he believes part of his purpose in life is to help out kids who are in tough spots like he was.

“That’s what I felt walking around that facility today and the campus today was everybody there has the right pieces to put their life together,” Davis said.

“I have a blueprint and I want to be able to help them write their own blueprint of how to escape what they’ve got going on and find success in their life,” Davis said.

The event raised money for Villa of Hope’s treatment services for mental health, substance use disorders and community care services.
