Tamra Judge has dropped the first hints about what The Real Housewives of Orange County viewers can expect from the historic season 20.
“Season 20 is pretty exciting,” Tamra, 58, revealed on the Wednesday, April 8, episode of her “Two Ts In A Pod” podcast. “Especially coming off season 19 [which] was not great for me. I was in a really bad place. I feel like I’m in a much better place.”
Tamra added that she feels “very thankful just to be on season 20” as the longest-running cast member on RHOC with her 16th full-time season on the horizon.
“I can’t say too much about what’s going on because I’ll get my ass handed to me,” she joked. “I think it’s going to be an amazing season. I think it’s going to be different. I think it feels different. … I’m so much happier.”
RHOC’s Heather Dubrow Speculates How Vicki's Return Will Change Show Dynamic
Tamra hinted that she’s been having “a lot of fun” with her RHOC costars, especially now that the “OG of the OC” Vicki Gunvalson has returned as a fulltime Housewife.
“I love having Vicki back, for sure. It feels like home when she is on the show,” she beamed. “It just kind of gives it that early feeling that we had way back in the early days.”
She suggested that part of RHOC’s appeal at this point is her extensive history with Vicki and fellow mainstays Shannon Storms Beador and Heather Dubrow.
“We definitely have the core four there … who started in the early days,” Tamra pointed out. “The new girls aren’t very new anymore. [Jennifer Pedranti] is well-seasoned now. … It’s always fun to bring in a new cast member but it’s great to have people who know each other.”
Tamra has certainly come a long way since she memorably threatened to quit the show during the tumultuous filming of RHOC season 19, where she was once again on the outs with Shannon and Jen. She was also dealing with her friend and podcast cohost Teddi Mellencamp’s cancer battle throughout production on season 19.

However, Tamra exclusively explained to Us Weekly in August 2025 that she’d simply hit her breaking point and was lashing out. Producers ultimately allowed her to take a week off to recharge her batteries.
“Everybody was calling me. Andy [Cohen] was calling me. [Executive producer] Alex [Baskin] was calling me. They asked me to please take a week off,” Tamra recalled. “They said, ‘We know how much stress you’re under, and I want you to take a week off. Come back to us in a week, and if you still want to quit, we respect where you’re at in your life and everything that’s going on.’ They were very nice to me, very kind to me about that.”

Tamra indicated that her RHOC castmates were less compassionate, telling Us, “I’m not asking for grace. I’m not asking for people to feel sorry for me but I’m a human. I might seem tough but it doesn’t mean I don’t have any feelings.”
She continued, “To see people like Emily [Simpson] and Gina [Kirschenheiter] say the things they said about me and not have any compassion? Honestly, Heather’s the only one that truly had any compassion whatsoever for me.”
