We're pretty religious -- pun somewhat intended -- about performing the 'Waitin' for the Bus/Jesus Left Chicago' medley, the first two tracks on the album, in every one of our concerts. 'Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers' describes who's on stage and in the audience and, come on, 'La Grange' is on it. Talk about a 'defining moment!'" said Gibbons in the interview.
In a 2023 interview with AXS TV, Gibbons shared that his bandmates Elwood Francis and Frank Beard also love Tres Hombres, which was ZZ Top's third studio album. In addition, he noted that fans also think highly of the record.
"It's rather remarkable that this particular record, not only is it a favorite of between me Frank and Elwood, everybody seems to think that this was one of the standout releases from ZZ Top," said Gibbons in the 2023 interview.
Gibbons also said he has a fondness for the art inside the album.
