Out of Powder Springs (Georgia) McEachern High School, Johnson is listed as measuring 6-feet and 170 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Johnson is rated 3-stars, the No. 68 cornerback, No. 75 player in the state of Georgia and No. 658 prospect overall in the Class of 2027.

Though not a blue-chip prospect, Johnson is sought after with an impressive offer list. Auburn, Miami, Tennessee and Ole Miss are the programs that have lined up upcoming visits. Johnson has also collected offers from Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Mizzou and others during his recruitment.
Johnson had verbally pledged to Kalen DeBoer‘s Alabama staff back on Oct. 4. With his removal from the class, UA stands at 3 commitments in the early stages of the 2027 cycle.
