    2026 Run for Malawi Saturday, April 11 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

    Run for a good cause this weekend the Run for Malawi 5K. It’s a timed individual 5K run/walk to help the Malawi Children’s Initiative help at-risk children in Malawi.     Ackland’s drawing the galleries series is continuing this weekend. Amanda Hughes will lead participants in a creative exploration of a particular object in the Ackland’s collection.     The UNC Science Expo is back this weekend at the Morehead Planetarium. It’s a day of science, learning, and fun for the whole community. It features over 100 booths staffed by UNC-Chapel Hill students, researchers, practitioners, and community volunteers.     The Lavender Social and Transorange Present A Queer Clothing Swap! Saturday, April 11 1:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

    The Lavender Social will be at Speakeasy in Carrboro for a clothing swap. Bring your gently used clothes and swap them with others or just come out and shop for clothes, no swap required! The 5K raises money for the ZTA foundation whose efforts support educational programming, scholarships, leadership development, and breast cancer education and awareness.
