Florida high school state finalist Sadie Minich has announced her commitment to swim for the University of Cincinnati beginning in the fall of 2026.
“I’m excited to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Cincinnati! I’d like to thank Coach Mandy, Coach Scott, and the rest of the coaching staff at Cincinnati for giving me this opportunity. I’d also like to thank Coach Brian and @tampaeliteaquatics for supporting me the whole way here! Go Bearcats”
A senior at Wesley Chapel High School, Minich has been a member of her school’s varsity swimming and diving team all four years. She currently trains year-round with Tampa Elite Aquatics, where she primarily specializes in breaststroke and some freestyle.
Minich has qualified for the FHSAA (Florida High School Athletic Association) Class 3A State Championship every season since her freshman year and has earned a second swim the past three years in a row. Her best finish came in 2024, when she snagged the runner-up spot in the 100 breast in a then-best time of 1:04.97. At the 2025 iteration of the meet in November, Minich placed 4th in the 100 breast in 1:05.99 after posting a lifetime best time of 1:04.84 during prelims. She also placed 13th in the 200 IM with a time of 2:15.14.
At the 2026 Florida Swimming Senior Championships a few weeks ago, Minich turned in a series of strong performances. She placed 8th in the 200 breast (2:27.42), 10th in the 100 breast (1:06.89), 17th in the 1000 free (10:38.38 – PB), 25th in the 500 free (5:14.75 – PB) and 48th in the 50 free (26.15).
Minich also boasts lifetime best times of 2:22.63 in the 200 breast and 55.51 in the 100 free from the 2025 Florida Senior Championship last season.

To earn a second swim at the 2026 Big 12 Conference Championships, it took times of 1:03.08/2:17.21 in the 100/200 breast, putting Minich outside the cutoff in her top events.
On the team itself, Minich is poised to rank 3rd in both the 100 and 200 breast next season, although that does not account for the other incoming freshmen.
Joining Minich in the Bearcats’ class of 2030 will be Nicole Amike, Macartney Mahler, Riley Miller, Alexis Schmidt, Nina Heron, Lily Swope, McKenzie Jenny and Olivia Wenert, who should all make for strong training partners over the next four years.
