There are three things guaranteed in the world today: Death, taxes, and Jeopardy! being on. Believe it or not, the iconic game show has been on the air for over 60 years (though the modern incarnation we know and love technically debuted in 1984). Under the watchful eye of Ken Jennings (who himself was a record-breaking champion), Jeopardy! puts three people's trivia skills and reflexes to the ultimate test. And so many of the greats to grace those podiums started by simply watching the show as it aired on weekdays, as millions have done for over half a century. Here's a spoiler-filled recap of who won Jeopardy! today, plus the answer to Final Jeopardy.

Jamie Ding
Another day, another dominant performance from the hottest player in Jeopardy! right now, Jamie Ding. Season 42 continues to deliver must-watch television, and the bureaucrat and law student from Lawrenceville, New Jersey, continues to be the reason why.
He officially hit a major milestone, crossing the $500,000 mark in regular-play winnings, cementing his place among the show’s all-time greats, moving past Julia Collins (#18) and Jerome Vered (#17).
It wasn't Ding's flashiest performance, as he stumbled on the first two Daily Doubles of the game, but his buzzer speed and depth of knowledge were more than enough to build a commanding runaway lead heading into Final Jeopardy. The 17-day returning champion came into the game with $494,012 in total winnings and was just $5,988 away from the half-million-dollar milestone. He delivered once again with a Coryat score of $31,600, going 37 correct against just 3 incorrect and winning 59.65% of buzzer races.

Final Jeopardy today was in the category "Museum Pieces." The clue: "A piece of mountaineering equipment at the International Spy Museum in D.C. was used to kill this man in 1940."
The answer: Who is Leon Trotsky?
At -$1,000, Srijay did not participate. Iannone wagered his entire $5,000, though he failed to come up with the correct response, dropping to $0. Meanwhile, Ding wagered $8,360 and responded correctly with "Who is Trotsky?” pushing his daily total to $36,360 and his 18-day cumulative winnings to $530,372. The exclamation point on another incredible victory.
Ding will be back tomorrow, going for win number 19.
