ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester City School District is set to open two new early childhood education centers during the 2026-2027 school year.
The district says it’s aiming to enhance early childhood development and ensure that families have multiple pre-K options to choose from. The new sites will be at 145 Midland Avenue, formerly School No. 39, and 820 Chili Avenue, formerly School No. 44.
The district says these new centers will complement the district’s existing pre-K model. There will still be traditional school-based classrooms at the Florence Brown PreK Center at School No. 33.
However, as part of the transition, the current Rochester Early Childhood Education Center on North Clinton Avenue will relocate to the Midland Avenue site, which the district says offers a larger space. You can learn more about RCSD pre-K programs here.
