Candace Cameron Bure is ringing in her 50th birthday surrounded by family and friends — but she only knows some of the details.
“I mean, [I’m] feeling excited,” Cameron Bure, who turned 50 on Monday, April 6, exclusively told Us Weekly ahead of her milestone birthday. “It’s a little weird to turn 50, but I’m excited.”
The Full House alum revealed that her loved ones have been keeping the details of her actual birthday celebration under wraps, which makes the festivities even more enticing.
“I have, I think, a surprise on my birthday. On Monday, my husband’s planning something for me, and all the kids will be here,” Cameron Bure shared. “But I have no idea what we’re doing.”

“I don’t mind surprises,” Cameron Bure said. “It’s so funny because there were parts of me that were like, ‘Yeah, plan whatever you guys want.’ And then my brain kicks in and I’m like, ‘Well, let me see what you’re doing. Let me put my fingerprint on that one.’”
She reiterated, “But as far as my birthday goes with my family, I really have no idea what we’re doing.”
Cameron Bure, however, did tell Us that this upcoming weekend she is going to have a “little girls dinner with some of my best friends and favorite people in L.A.”

“I thought that was a good way to be able to celebrate with some of my best friends that are also turning 50 this year,” she explained.
Cameron Bure has grown up in the spotlight after playing D.J. Tanner on Full House from 1987 to 1995 after breaking into acting in the early ‘80s.
She has since become a household name and most recently became one of the biggest stars on Great American Family, where she also serves as an executive producer on all her movie projects.
With so much success on screen, and creating lasting friendships with many costars off camera, Cameron Bure told Us she considered doing a full-blown party for the big 5-0 before eventually changing her mind.

Cameron Bure noted, “I love everyone, but when you start accumulating a list, you’re like, when does the list end you? There’s so many people, and so I thought I want to be able to talk to everyone.”
The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries star revealed that her “only request” was to have quality time with the people she loves.

“Whatever the day would bring, [I hoped] it would be small and intimate, so I could actually spend time and have conversation with the people that I love,” she added.
Cameron Bure, who has been open and honest about her relationship with Christianity and God, told Us that having her 50th fall right after Easter Sunday was another blessing — especially because her family was already all together for the holiday.

“It’s such a special weekend. I mean, Easter and the resurrection is absolutely everything in the Christian faith,” she explained. “I know that we talk about Christmas all the time because of the Christmas movies, and the reason for the season and the Savior is born. However, the resurrection is what sets God and Jesus apart from any other God that’s out there, because he lives. He is risen and he is alive.”
The “Candace Cameron Bure” podcast host added, “To be able to celebrate that, and along with another year that God gave me life is pretty special. We have family over this weekend, so it’s going to be a big Easter celebration, and then it’ll roll right into a birthday celebration.”
