That field was led by Americans’ Regan Smith and Kate Douglass, who won $52,000 and $38,000, respectively.
They are, incidentally, two of the three highest earners through two stops of the USA Swimming Pro Swim Series this season, where Smith has earned $11,000 and Douglass has earned $7,500 (the latter only competed in Westmont).
American women were the big earners at the meet, with Smith, Douglass, and Walsh taking three of the top four spots – with Walsh tying for 4th alongside China’s Yu Zidi and Zhang Zhanshuo. The top male performer was Italy’s Thomas Ceccon, who earned $32,000 at the meet.
Note: per the official documents, all prize money is subject to a 20% tax.
