Grace episode 2 airs update on Cassian’s Sandy bombshell - and includes a chilling threat for Glenn

*Warning - contains major spoilers for Grace season 6 episode 2.*

The second episode of Grace season 6 predominantly focused on the case of a university student who was found dead, but it also contained some links to the drama's ongoing storyline surrounding Sandy's death.

At the end of season 5, corrupt cop Cassian Pewe revealed to Roy that his wife Sandy's death was actually a murder, perpetrated by the Benchdale gang to whom she owed money. That gang, led by the notorious Albazi, would now be coming for Roy and Sandy's son, Bruno.

At the start of season 6, Albazi was being prosecuted, but his trial seemed to be in danger of collapsing. In episode 2, Glenn told Roy that he had a lead - a man in Munich who ran a garage, and was the go-to person for stolen cars and false plates.

Glenn suggested he travel to Munich to find out whether the car that killed Sandy had been procured by Albazi or one of his men. That would not only provide evidence to put Albazi away, but would also prove Cassian's claims correct, that Sandy was indeed murdered.

Glenn protested, and suggested he would travel to Munich himself. Glenn said that Roy was too close to it and would attract attention, and Roy reluctantly agreed.

At the end of the episode, Glenn carried out his plan, travelling to Munich to meet with the contact. The contact revealed that he sold the car that hit Sandy, and gave Glenn the name of someone with a string of convictions across Europe.

Glenn called Roy and told him that he was running checks, but it looked likely that Cassian was telling the truth and Sandy was killed by the Benchdale gang. As Roy said this aloud, his son Bruno secretly overheard - meaning he now knows what seemingly really happened to his mother.

Glenn's trip to Munich seemed to have borne fruit, and suggested that he and Roy were on the right track. However, a final sting at the end of the episode potentially threw a deadly spanner in the works.

The contact Glenn had met in Munich was seen making a call, telling whoever was on the other end of the phone that he "did what you asked, but they are getting close".

He was then asked for the cop's name, to which he said, ominously: "Glenn Branson. He has a wife and two kids."

Glenn may have helped his friend, but could he have put his own family in the line of fire by asking the right questions?

Speaking during a virtual Q&A for the show's new season, John Simm previously teased that Roy and Glenn have an argument during one of the upcoming episodes. Perhaps this will be driven by developments surrounding the Sandy case?

Simm said of the argument: "Tensions are high, they're not superhuman, they make mistakes, which is why I love these characters. They're real."
