Jo Adell’s Legendary Night — Robbing one home run in your entire career would be a feat worth remembering for any big league outfielder. As in, this is one of the greatest individual performances from a player in a game. Ever.

Jo Adell Robs 3 Home Runs!
The first theft (this one, from Cal Raleigh) came in the top of the first inning, and was of the more typical home run-robbing variety.

It would have been the Big Dumper’s first homer of the season (… after hitting 60 last year), but Jo Adell brought it back into the park for a looooooong out. That’s gotta be especially painful for Raleigh, who’s been horrendous to start the year: .121/.216/.152 (21 wRC+) with a 45.9% strikeout rate. What?!
The second home run robbery of the evening was seven innings later, in the eighth, when Josh Naylor lifted what would have been the game-tying blast out to right field.

It was once again especially cruel, too, because Naylor hasn’t hit one yet this year and is also off to just a brutal start offensively: .114/.205/.114 (-2 wRC+). That stings.
The third and final home run robbery of the night was BY FAR the coolest and most memorable catch of the evening. Not only was it the most impressive (he wound up standing on the OTHER SIDE OF THE WALL), but it came in the ninth inning of a one-run game.
It does not get more impactful than that. And it does not get any cooler than this:

You will be hard-pressed to show me a more impressive individual defensive performance from anyone … ever, really. Robbing three home runs in a game that ended 1-0 is just forever-memory type stuff. It’s maybe not as impressive as Shohei Ohtani’s 4-4, 2-HR, 6 shutout innings with 10 Ks performance from 2025, but it evokes a similar sense of legendary.
Just awesome, awesome stuff from Jo Adell. What a night. He’ll remember this one for the rest of his life, and honestly, I might too.
