ROCHESTER, N.Y. – After last night’s heavy rainfall, we are getting a break in the rain before more rain showers develop this afternoon and evening. It will be cool and breezy with highs in the upper 40s and gusts out of the west up to 35-40 MPH, then tonight it remains breezy with more chances for passing showers.
Even cooler tomorrow with highs in the low 40s. Mixed showers develop in the afternoon, and the cooling trend doesn’t stop there. Tuesday we will only be in the low 30s at BEST. That, combined with a clipper system rolling through, means we get a taste of some April snowfall Tuesday morning. Not much; only 1-2″ expected at most, and it should melt pretty fast on Wednesday as high temperatures reach 50 degrees alongside abundant April sunshine.
A stationary front sets up second half of this week which will bring continuous chances for rain starting Thursday evening. The front drifts south on Saturday, so we could get a break in the rain then, but it drifts back north Sunday leading to more rain to start next week. This may lead to some flooding concerns, so stay tuned for updates.
