ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Another fast-moving low-pressure system is cutting across the central great lakes during the next 24 hours. This means that once again there will be some rapid changes in our weather. The News10NBC First Alert meteorologists are tracking a line of showers and thunderstorms that have produced some severe weather across Ohio and Michigan. This convective instability will be on the increase later tonight (near midnight); however, the line should arrive late enough that these storms will diminish in coverage and intensity. Even with this weakening, we anticipate a few heavy downpours, gusty winds, and lightning. Since these storms should be losing strength, at this time we will keep the News10NBC threat tracker green. Obviously, we will keep you updated on any changes.
A cold front will pass our area late overnight. This will push most of the wet weather east of Rochester for Easter morning. However, Sunday will be windy and much cooler as the temperature will struggle to reach the upper 40s. In addition, a brief rain shower will be possible at times.
Monday and Tuesday will feel and even look more like winter. Monday will be blustery with rain and wet snow showers. The temperature will be in the middle 40s. Tuesday will bring snow showers with possibly a coating of snow on the ground for the Tuesday morning. It will be unseasonably cold with the mercury remaining int he middle 30s.
