ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Easter weekend will be mainly dry during the day, but in between we have some heavy rain and rumbles of thunder.
Highs today will be in the upper 60s/low 70s as a warm front pushes through… That warm front will spawn some passing showers this afternoon, but again the day will be MAINLY dry. Make sure to use the radar feature on the First Alert Weather app to see exactly where the showers are incase you have any easter egg hunts today.
Middle of tonight through very early tomorrow morning a cold front passes by which will dump 0.5-0.75″ of rain with some rumbles of thunder and a gusty wind. We’re going to keep it Green on the Threat Tracker mainly due to timing and the fact that severe weather chances are relatively low. If the forecast changes, we will send out an update, so check back in this afternoon.
Rain is out of the area by 6am tomorrow, and the rest of Easter Sunday will be cool, breezy, cloudy, with chances for showers in the afternoon and evening. These will be lake effect rain showers, meaning not everyone will see them and they will be on the lighter side.
Even cooler Monday and Tuesday especially. A clipper system rolls through Monday night through Tuesday, which will bring the return of snow! Only minor accumulations expected, around 1-2″. And that won’t last on the ground long as we get up to 50 degrees with plenty of sunshine Wednesday. More wet weather is expected late next week.
