    2026 Final Four Matchups

Saturday starts with an Illinois vs UConn clash featuring Brad Underwood’s physical Illinois squad and a UConn program that thrives in April basketball. Illinois is making its first Final Four appearance since 2005, and they earned it the hard way. Relying heavily on Keaton Wagler and Andrej Stojakovic, the Illini ground out a tough 65-55 win over No. 2 seed Houston in the Sweet 16 before handling No. 9 seed Iowa in the Elite Eight to punch their ticket. They will need every bit of that toughness against Dan Hurley’s Huskies.

UConn navigated a tricky East Region, edging past Michigan State before pulling off a stunning 19-point comeback against top-seeded Duke to reach Indy. Capped by Braylon Mullins hitting a buzzer-beater from the logo, UConn brings plenty of momentum into the weekend. Illinois is the favorite on paper, but this game will come down to who establishes the tone early.

For the nightcap, we get the No. 1 vs. No. 1 matchup everyone had circled on Selection Sunday. Michigan has been an absolute machine in the Midwest Region, scoring over 95 points in their opening games before rolling past No. 4 Alabama 90-77 in the Sweet 16. They followed that up by beating Tennessee by 33 points, largely on the shoulders of Yaxel Lendeborg, who has powered up in March. Arizona brings its own NBA-level talent to Indianapolis, however.

Led by Brayden Burries, the Wildcats handled LIU and Utah State easily in the first weekend before taking down No. 2 seed Purdue 79-64 in the Elite Eight behind a strong second-half push. The oddsmakers basically have this game as a coin toss, which feels right. With so many future pros sharing the floor, this one will likely come down to who executes better in the half-court during the final few minutes.

Spread Favorite for Saturday’s Final Four Games

The oddsmakers and bettors have locked in the numbers for the 2026 Final Four, and we’re looking at a couple of incredibly tight point spreads. Up first, Illinois is laying 2.5 points against UConn, with the over/under set at 139.5. Even though the Huskies have the championship pedigree and are riding high off that miraculous comeback against Duke, the Illini’s dominant run has clearly earned Vegas’s respect. They’ve won every tournament game by double digits so far, making them the moneyline favorite to reach Monday’s title game.

The second Final Four game, a battle of titans, is even closer, with Michigan currently a razor-thin 1.5-point favorite over Arizona. The total for this one is a massive 157.5, with the sportsbooks clearly expecting a high-scoring heavyweight fight. Some may be surprised to see the Wolverines laying the points against such a loaded Wildcats roster, but with two powerhouse No. 1 seeds squaring off, it’s being treated as a coin toss. This is shaping up to be an unbelievable, down-to-the-wire Saturday in Indy.
