We’re almost to the 2026 NFL Draft and we’re locking in on prospects and team fits for next season. The Seattle Seahawks may be coming off a Super Bowl win but they have a glaring hole at running back heading into their title defense.
The Seahawks decided not to franchise tag RB and Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III, instead watching him sign with the Kansas City Chiefs. Seattle also could be without RB Zach Charbonnet to start the season as he’s coming off a torn ACL suffered during the playoffs. The team signed former Packers RB Emanuel Wilson this offseason to add some depth but other than him, it’s George Holani, Cam Akers, Kenny McIntosh and Jacardia Wright under contract. Not the best room.

Matt Harmon was joined by Underdog’s Josh Norris to discuss the idea of Arkansas RB Mike Washington Jr. going to Seattle as a clear fit at a position of need in a recent episode of the Yahoo Fantasy Forecast.
Norris points out Washington’s measurables from the NFL Combine and that Seahawks GM John Schneider is in desperate need of a running back going into the draft. Given Washington’s combination of size and speed — a type of freak-show athlete — it wouldn’t be surprising to see Schneider go after the Razorback.
Norris highlights Washington’s strengths and weaknesses, pointing out his vision is a bit better than he gets credit for while he’s able to take long strides and eat up a lot of ground. Washington, however, lacks balance and gets cut down too easily on runs. He is a vastly different player than Walker, who was a king at breaking tackles but also taking some of those rushes for short gains.

The Seahawks — and every team around the NFL — is in need of a back who can rip off explosive runs and Washington brings just that. Seattle also, again, doesn’t really have a starting running back for Week 1 with Charbonnet banged up and the depth pretty barren. So this feels like a great fit at all levels.
Yahoo analyst Justin Boone has Washington ranked 11th overall in his rookie dynasty fantasy football rankings for 2026. That puts Washington at RB3 behind only Jeremiyah Love and Jonah Coleman in what is viewed as a weak RB class.
