Sean McVay Loves Caleb Williams, Lions Ready to Move Penei Sewell, Micah Parsons Rehab Update, and Other Bears Bullets

Day 71 of the Chicago Bears offseason. A trip to Wrigley Field on a Monday in March when the game-time temperature is in the 70s is the kind of thing that will help hold me over until meaningful football games are played in September.

Game recognize game. I love hearing this from Rams Head Coach Sean McVay on Bears quarterback Caleb Williams:

Sean McVay's got nothing but respect for Caleb Williams? pic.twitter.com/madMh1OflC

    — NFL (@NFL) March 31, 2026 Of course, Rams coach Sean McVay has nothing but love for Bears quarterback Caleb Williams. More McVay:

“He’s a stud. Even just preparing for him, watching the crunch-time throws, I think he did a great job. … And then, the things that are so impressive are when things go off-schedule. I mean, I couldn’t believe what I witnessed on that 4th down and 4. It’s one of the most incredible plays I’ve ever seen. He seems like he lights up, and he’s at his best in the most important moments. You can tell there’s a belief that his teammates have in him. He’s a great guy, so I wish him the best — except for when they’re playing the Rams.”

Speaking of Chicago’s QB1, look who’s out throwing at his alma mater:

Even though nothing is officially official on the stadium front, Hammond (Ind.) Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr. seems convinced that the Bears have already made up their mind and are choosing to build across state lines in Indiana. “The Bears had already made their mind up before most of the public found out about it,” Hammond said, via the Chicago Tribune. ICYMI: Bears President and CEO Kevin Warren provided the latest update on the stadium saga. There isn’t anything concrete, but Warren gives us a tentative deadline to look forward to by saying that he is “confident” that the team will know sometime in the spring or summer. This would mean a lot more if Warren didn’t already have a record of saying things he didn’t back up with actions. You know, like when he said there would be shovels in the ground in 2025. The Warren hasn’t backed up any of his promises and has danced around this situation, which is incredibly frustrating. For the sake of my mental health, I know that I shouldn’t read the comments. However, I do. And when I read the ones accompanying any post I do on the Bears stadium, I can feel the anger and frustration through my screen. To that, I want to say this: You guys and gals are preaching to the choir. If you think you’re frustrated, I want you to know I feel that on an amplified level, having followed this story since its inception in September 2022. It feels like I’ve lived nine lives since then, and yet, the Bears seem no closer to building a stadium than they were when this ordeal began. Mandatory Credit: David Banks-Imagn Images

When the Detroit Lions signed Larry Borom in free agency, there were some whispers about the move being a precursor to Penei Sewell moving from right tackle to left tackle. And while nothing is officially official on that front, a potential Sewell slide to the left side is on our radar after Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell shared with reporters his preference to see the All-Pro right tackle move to the other side of the line to protect the blindside of quarterback Jared Goff. Campbell added (h/t Albert Breer via Twitter/X) that the star tackle is ready to make the move. Green Bay Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst says Micah Parsons’ rehab is going as expected:

Look, I tried to get Brian Gutekunst to tell me exactly when Micah Parsons will return from torn ACL and—shocker—he wouldn’t.Here’s what’s clear though: #Packers will not rush him.“Obviously, we invested quite a bit in him, so we will be very protective of that investment.” pic.twitter.com/TfJd9kwF3o

    — Ryan Wood (@ByRyanWood) March 30, 2026 ESPN’s Kevin Seifert has a roundup of everything the Minnesota Vikings have said about their crowded quarterbacks room. It feels so good to watch other teams deal with chaotic quarterbacking situations. It hurts reading about layoffs hitting the PFF content team. Even though I don’t always agree with the takeaways, I think Pro Football Focus is a valuable resource because of the data and perspective it provides for larger conversations. This is my favorite thing I’ve written in a while. Where else are you going to read a Bears post that mentions how Red Grange, Paul Wall, Marvel Comics, and George Gevin all relate to Caleb Williams?

The coldest thing you'll read today is my deep dive into Caleb Williams and the Iceman nickname, which includes anecdotes about:? George Gervin? Nelly, Paul Wall, and Drake? Marvel Comics and Top Gun? The Bears' original "Iceman"@BN_Bears ✍️ t.co/Dcx7ZtZ8fa pic.twitter.com/NI5k84pfYg
