It's been over a year since Nicola Walker was last on our screens in The Split: Barcelona, but now the Unforgotten star is leading the cast of new comedy-drama series Alice and Steve - and a set of first-look images have been unveiled.
Also starring What We Do in the Shadows's Jemaine Clement, the series focuses on Walker's character Alice, who is devastated when her best friend Steve (Clement) starts dating her 26-year-old daughter Izzy, played by Yali Topol Margalith (A Good Girl's Guide to Murder).
The synopsis for the six-part series, which will air on Disney+ this summer, says: "Alice tries everything she can to end the relationship. Unfortunately for her, Steve’s more than ready for the attack, and what begins as a perfect friendship, devolves into an all-out feud.
"A hilarious, messy, and complicated exploration of friendship, family, and love, Alice and Steve is an anti-romantic comedy that asks the question, how far would you go for love - or revenge? Will Alice forgive Steve? Will Steve and Izzy make a relationship work? Amongst all the questions hanging in the balance, one thing is certain; their lives will never be the same again."
The images give us our first look at Walker, Clement and Margalith in character in the London-based series, along with Joel Fry (Doctor Who), who plays a character called Daniel.
Tyrese Eaton-Dyce (Sherwood), Marcia Warren (The Crown), Eilidh Fisher (Dope Girls) and Ebony Aboagye (The Conjuring: Last Rites) are also in the cast.
The series has been created and written by Sophie Goodhart (Sex Education), and is directed by Tom Kingsley (Ghosts).
When the series was first announced, Walker said in a statement: "I'm thrilled to be stepping into the fabulous world of friendship, motherhood, marriage frantic revenge and fierce love that Sophie Goodhart has created, and to be doing it with Jemaine Clement is completely joyful!"
Meanwhile, Clement added: "I really relate to Steve – he's classy, stylish and an all-round good guy – except for when he isn't. I'm excited to be working with the wonderful Nicola Walker and seeing how Steve and Alice's relationship descends into absolute chaos."
Alice and Steve will be available to watch on Disney+ in summer 2026. You can sign up to Disney Plus for £5.99 a month or £99.90 a year now.
