ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A woman is facing charges after Rochester Police say she had an illegally possessed gun in a car with her two children, 8 and 10, inside.
Officers began investigating after responding to shots fired on Garson Avenue near Webster Avenue around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday. RPD says the bullets didn’t hit anyone or anything.
Around the same time, officers pulled a car over on East Main and Scio streets, about a mile away. RPD says the car was believed to be connected to the gunfire. Officers arrested the woman in her 30s inside the car.
The woman is charged with criminal possession of a weapon, prohibited use of a weapon, and endangering the welfare of a child. RPD says it’s still investigating what led up to the gunfire.
