Tennessee basketball is hosting Belmont graduate transfer Tyler Lundblade on an official visit, according to Tennessee writer Ben McKee and other Vols reporters. Lundblade is able to visit Knoxville ahead of the opening of the portal due to his graduate status.
Lundblade is one of the top shooters currently expected to enter the transfer portal once it officially opens on April 7, and Tennessee makes a lot of sense right out of the gate. Belmont is located in Nashville, TN and the Volunteers absolutely need a knockdown shooter out of the portal this cycle.

— Ben McKee (@benmckee14) March 30, 2026Incredibly, Lundblade walked on at SMU, TCU and Belmont before becoming one of the best shooters in the nation and winning the Missouri Valley MVP. The Dallas, Texas native spent 2 seasons with the Bruins and was absolutely lethal from range for the entirety of his stint in Nashville.
Lundblade hit 219 3-pointers across the past 2 seasons with the Bruins and averaged an impressive 15.6 points per game on 43% FG% and 40.6% shooting from 3. He didn’t do much scoring away from the 3-point line — Lundblade saw just 35 2-point buckets fall this past season — but showed a knack at getting to the free throw line, where he knocked down 84 of his 90 free throw attempts.
As alluded to earlier, Tennessee needs shooting in a big way heading into next season. The Vols fared just 33.4% from behind the arc this past season and didn’t have an uber-efficient 3-point scorer on the roster. Ja’Kobi Gillespie was the closest option, but he knocked down his 103 3-pointers at a 34% clip and will be leaving Tennessee this offseason after running out of eligibility.
